What Is The Banish Kit For?

Tired of all those pesky acne scars and looking for a possible solution? Banish can be your trusted companion in treating acne scars and hyperpigmentation at home.

Other than scars, the Banish also helps reduce the look of stretch marks, fine lines, by increasing collagen in the skin.

Imagine this scenario: you’ve just bought the Banish Kit and although you’ve read the instructions at least 5 times, you can’t help but be a little intimidated by the bristles staring back at you.

You go back and forth, gaining and losing the courage to use it, with so many questions lingering at the back of your mind and you wonder if you’re ever going to use it!

Don’t worry, here we’ll break down all you need to know to use the Banish Kit with a tutorial video below.

What Is The Banisher?

The Banisher is a microneedling tool which works the natural way to fade the appearance of acne scars. It uses tiny (0.5 mm) Gold plated Titanium bristles to gently penetrate the skin.

These bristles create microchannels that are unseeable to the human eye, allowing for better product absorption and faster scar healing power. With each use, the Banisher will stimulate collagenproduction, over time creating new skin tissue and filling in older scars.

BANISHER 2.0

The Banisher 2.0 is a stamp type microneedle tool.  It’s a patented tool with 24k gold plated titanium bristles that’s safer, user-friendly, and effective on acne scars compared to other devices like a dermaroller.  The gentle pressing motion reduces the risk of tram track scars that can happen from using derma rollers.

Features of the Banisher

  • has around 77 fine and sharp bristles
  • bristles length is .5mm
  • 6.25″ tall
  • Titanium bristles are coated with 24K gold

Why Use the Banish Kit?

First and foremost, the Banish Kit contains cruelty-free ingredients that are ideal for  treating skin conditions such as acne scars and hyperpigmentation, even fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks, and body scars.

The Banish Kit works on older scars and is safe for those with darker skin tones.

Wear sunscreen for a few days after microneedling with the Banisher, but it is recommended to wear sunscreen daily.

How To Use The Banish Kit?

Using the Banish Kit is very simple, time-efficient, and effective in fading the appearance of acne scars and hyperpigmentation. The Banisher as well as the Banish Serum helps in improving or maintaining radiant skin and they can be a great addition to your skincare routine.

It may seem a little scary at first, but using the Banish Kit is super easy! Just follow these steps:

Disinfect

Before you do anything, make sure yousanitize, sanitize, sanitize. Fill the cap with rubbing alcohol up to the fill line. Place the Banisher in the cleaning container cap and allow it to soak in rubbing alcohol for 5 minutes. Then let it air dry for 1-2 minutes.  You want to use any rubbing or isopropyl alcohol concentrated at 70%-90%.

Never share your Banisher with anyone else.

Alternatives: If you cannot obtain rubbing alcohol, a couple of alternatives is to use a denture tablet in water, and follow the instructions of the box.

You may also create a 5.6% bleach solution and soak the Banisher in it for 8 hours.

Cleanse Skin and Hands.

While the Banisher is disinfecting, make sure your face is completely clean! Remove all makeup, cleanse, and rinse, double cleansing is highly recommended.

You can also put some isopropyl alcohol on a reusable cotton pad to wipe the surface of the skin. You’ll want a completely bare face when using the Banisher so that you aren’t spreading around any bacteria or germs.

Don’t worry about the alcohol wipe too much, the Banish serum applied afterwards will rehydrate the skin.

Target Areas You Want To Improve

Be careful not to stamp over any active acne including whiteheads, avoid using over any rashes, infections, or sores and don’t use over keloidal type scars.

Identify where your hyperpigmentation or acne scars and gently press the Banisher onto the skin – do not twist or drag the Banisher while it is pressed on the skin.

After stamping, lift the banisher up and rotate it slightly when it is not on the skin, and press back down. The rotation is so that you aren’t stamping the exact same place.  Repeat 4-5 times per area.

Apply Banish Serum ( Previously called Banish Oil)  or Vitamin C Creme

Once you are completely finished using the Banisher, apply a few drops of the Banish Serum to the skin with clean hands. We recommend the Banish Serum for most people, however the vitamin c creme is more suited for people with oily skin types.

A little bit goes a long way! You may feel a slight tingly sensation when applying the Banish Serum.  Again, it’s completely normal especially since Vitamin C is slightly acidic.  After a few minutes, this feeling will go away. Redness in the skin should subside after a few hours or by the next morning.

Don’t apply makeup or cosmetics or additional skincare until at least 8 hours after, or the next morning. Stay out of the sun and wear SPF 30+ daily for best results. Mineral sunscreen is best since they’re less irritating after microneedling, but any sunscreen you like will do.

Resanitize

Sanitize your Banisher with rubbing alcohol again after using. You can also clean the Banisher by gently scrubbing with a fresh unopened soft bristle toothbrush and soap, then use rubbing alcohol to sanitize and place the cap back on.

Over time, dead skin cells can collect in between the bristles and they do become dull with repeated use.  For this reason, it is recommended to replace the  Banisher 2.0 after 8 uses or whenever you notice the bristles are dulling.

You can use the Banisher 2.0 once a week, or once every other week.  It’s important to give enough time in between each use.  Consistency brings the best results.

List of Steps To Use the Banish Kit:

    1. Cleanse skin and hands and use alcohol wipe on skin.
    2. Twist the cap off.
    3. Pour alcohol up to the fill line, and twist back on. Let the bristles completely touch the rubbing alcohol for at least 5 minutes.
    4. Remove the cap and let the Banisher air dry for 1-3 minutes.
    5. Press the Banisher 4-5 times on each area.
    6. Lift up and rotate the Banisher about 90 degrees each time before you press down, don’t twist the Banisher while it is pressed onto skin
    7. Apply a few drops of the Banish Serum, or Vitamin C Creme right after.

HOW TO USE THE BANISH Serum

* Use 2-3 drops of the serum and spread it evenly on the face. Leave it on until the next time you wash your face.

* Use the Banish serum daily each evening, or every other day for best results

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE BANISH KIT

Did You Use To Have A Banish Roller?

Yes, the first version of the Banisher was one a roller type tool that we’ve since discontinued after we launched the Banisher 2.0!   Rolling the bristles across skin can create larger cone shaped channels, which is why we created the Banisher 2.0.

How Does The Banisher Feel?

It depends on each individual however, most would say that using the Banisher doesn’t hurt, you will feel a sensation similar to velcro being pressed on skin but it’s definitely bearable. If you want to make matters easier, you can always numb your face first by applying ice on it.

WILL IT LEAVE MARKS?

No! It only creates micro-channels which you cannot see them with the human eye.

 ARE THE RESULTS PERMANENT?

Yes, the results are permanent to an extent.  With each use, you’ll experience better and better results! It causes stimulation in collagenproduction – using your body’s own resources to heal from the inside out.  However, the natural aging process also happens and maintenance would be needed to help maintain results over a long period of time.

CAN I USE BANISH PRODUCTS WHILE ON ACCUTANE?

Accutane is a strong medication for treating acne. For those who are planning to take this medication for treating acne, it’s best or recommended to do thorough research and consult with your trusted dermatologist first.

While on Accutane, we don’t recommend using the following Banish products:

  • Banisher 2.0, or Pumpkin Enzyme Masque

We recommend using the Banisher 3-6 months post-Accutane. The rest of theBANISH products should not cause problems while using Accutane, you may want to avoid using the Pumpkin Enzyme Masque or Retinol Serum as additional exfoliation is likely not needed while on Accutane.

CAN I USE BANISH PRODUCTS WHILE PREGNANT?

Although most of Banish’s products are made from natural ingredients and doesn’t contain the ones known to possibly be harmful during pregnancy, it is still recommended to check with your doctor if the products are safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding stages.

During pregnancy, we recommend avoiding the Retinol+ceramide serum.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO SEE RESULTS?

You may notice results next day although it would be more of a temporary plumping effect. As soon as you wake up, you will be able to tell an immediate difference in your skin; it will appear plumper for most, although every person is different.  For me to see noticeable results where I could tell my indented acne scars were fading, it took about 3 months.

So, basically, these are all the things you need to know about the Banish Kit and how to use it. But remember! It’s still best to consult your trusted skin specialist and that results after using the Banisher or Banish Kit may vary from skin to skin so don’t fret just yet if you don’t see any noticeable results right away.

The good thing is that the Banish Kit has a 45 day return and exchange policy after it’s received!  So if in the rare case you find the kit isn’t the right fit for you, just send over an email to info@banish.com for an exchange or return.
